Summer Specials Scar Tattoo Giveaway Pet Portrait Class

Summer is bringing a little bit of everything to the studio this year: a meaningful tattoo giveaway, gift certificate specials, scar tattoo pricing, and a small pet portrait class for anyone who wants to spend an afternoon making art.

Applications are now being accepted for the From Scars to Art tattoo giveaway, with a drawing planned for September. There is also a cash gift certificate special running now until September, plus special scar tattoo pricing for appointments booked before Sept. 1.

Because I am an appointment-only artist, please make arrangements before stopping by. I am not always at the studio. For questions, applications, booking, or class sign-ups, text 520-340-6663 or email me at healingarttattoo@gmail.com

Apply for the From Scars to Art tattoo giveaway

The From Scars to Art giveaway is for someone who wants to cover a scar with a custom tattoo. The winner will receive a 4-hour tattoo session worth $600, with the drawing taking place in September.

This giveaway is meant to turn a healed scar into something personal, beautiful, and chosen. Scars can carry a lot of history. A cover-up tattoo can create a new relationship with that area of the body, whether the design is bold, soft, symbolic, colorful, or simple.

To qualify, the tattoo must be used to cover a scar. The scar must be fully healed and ready to be tattooed. This also includes areola tattoos, as long as the area is healed and suitable for tattooing.

If you are not sure whether your scar is ready, please ask before applying. Every scar is different. Texture, age, sensitivity, and location can all affect what can be tattooed and how the design should be planned. If there are medical concerns, it is always best to check with a medical professional first.

The winner will be drawn in September, so applications are open now.

What the giveaway includes

The winner will receive one tattoo session valued at $600. The session length is 4 hours, which gives time for a thoughtful scar cover-up design and tattoo work.

The final design will depend on the scar, the skin, the placement, and the style that fits the person receiving the tattoo. Some scars work beautifully with floral designs, ornamental work, nature themes, soft shading, or abstract movement. Others may need a design that follows the scar instead of hiding every part of it.

A scar cover-up is not always the same as a regular tattoo. The skin can behave differently, and the design needs to be planned with care. The goal is to make art that respects the body and works with the scar, not against it.

To apply head to my website- www.sheryllake.com or ask about the giveaway, text 520-340-6663. If you have applied in the past message me and I can reenter your application for you.

Buy a $300 gift certificate and receive $100 free

There is also a summer gift certificate special happening now until September.

Buy one $300 gift certificate with cash and receive a $100 gift certificate free.

That gives you $400 in tattoo value for $300 paid in cash. It is a great option if you already know you want a tattoo, want to plan a larger piece, or want to gift tattoo time to someone who has been talking about getting work done.

A few helpful notes:

  • The $300 purchase must be made with cash.

  • The free $100 gift certificate is included with the special.

  • Arrangements need to be made before coming in.

  • Text ahead because the studio is appointment only.

Gift certificates can make planning easier, especially if you want to break a bigger idea into sessions. They also make a thoughtful gift for someone who has a design in mind but has not booked yet.

Scar tattoos booked before Sept. 1 are $100 an hour

All scar tattoos booked before Sept. 1 will be priced at $100 an hour.

This special is separate from the giveaway and is available for scar tattoo appointments that are booked before the Sept. 1 deadline. If you have been thinking about covering or adding art around a healed scar, this is a good time to start the conversation.

Scar tattoos can include many types of work, such as:

  • Covering a healed surgical scar

  • Adding artwork around a scar

  • Creating a design that blends with scar tissue

  • Areola tattooing when the area is healed and ready

  • Reworking an area that needs a softer or more finished look

During planning, the size and shape of the scar matter. So does the age of the scar and how the skin feels. Some pieces may need a softer approach. Others can hold more detail. The best first step is to text a clear photo if requested, share what you have in mind, and ask what may be possible.

Gift certificates are great gift ideas and can purchase everything from custom art, t-shirts, tattoos, and workshops.

Pet portrait class is coming in August

For anyone who wants to make art instead of getting tattooed, a pet portrait class will be offered in August.

This class will be small, relaxed, and creative. You can work in acrylic or watercolor, depending on the style you want to try. I will help with transferring your stencil to canvas or paper, then we will explore fun and creative ways to paint our pets.

The class is limited to 3 people, so everyone can get help and attention. The cost is $50 per person.

This is a good class for beginners, pet lovers, and anyone who wants a guided art project without the pressure of making it perfect. Pet portraits do not have to be stiff or realistic to be meaningful. A good portrait can capture a funny expression, a favorite color palette, a sweet face, or the personality that makes your pet yours.

You can paint a dog, cat, bird, horse, rabbit, reptile, or any pet you love. Bring a clear reference photo, and choose acrylic or watercolor based on the look you want. Acrylic is great for bold color and layering. Watercolor works well for soft washes, gentle details, and a looser style.

What to expect in the pet portrait class

The class will focus on making the process approachable. You do not need to know how to draw a perfect pet from scratch.

We will start by getting the image transferred onto canvas or paper. From there, we will build the portrait step by step. The goal is to learn, play with paint, and leave with something personal.

You will get help with:

  • Transferring your stencil

  • Choosing colors

  • Building layers

  • Adding personality and texture

  • Using acrylic or watercolor in a fun way

  • Finishing the piece with details that make it feel like your pet

Since the class is limited to 3 people, spots may fill quickly. Text 520-340-6663 to ask about August class availability.
